# HTTP Keep-Alive

Reuse Soracom Beam HTTP connections for multiple requests and responses.

HTTP Keep-Alive is a mechanism for processing multiple HTTP requests and responses over a single TCP connection in HTTP communication.

## Between a Device and the Soracom Beam Entry Point

Beam's [HTTP entry point](https://docs.soracom.io/en/services/beam/http) and [Website entry point](https://docs.soracom.io/en/services/beam/website) support HTTP Keep-Alive. If the device uses HTTP/1.1, HTTP Keep-Alive is enabled by default with a timeout of **65 seconds**.

If you prefer not to use HTTP Keep-Alive, you can disable it in one of two ways:

- Set the `Connection: close` header when the device sends an HTTP request.
- Close the TCP connection immediately after receiving the response.
